The short version: this website doesn’t track you, doesn’t set cookies, and only collects your details if you ask for launch updates. Here is who runs it, exactly what it does, and the rights you have.

Who you’re dealing with
ALDBRN is a small company building its first product in the open. Here is what that means in plain terms.

Who is responsible
ALDBRN AS (organisation number 838 495 702), Platous gate 33, 0190 Oslo, Norway, is the data controller for the personal data described on this page. That means we decide why and how it is used, and we answer for it. How to reach us is under Contact, at the end of this page.
We haven’t appointed a data protection officer. The law doesn’t require one for a company of our size doing this kind of processing, so privacy questions come straight to us.
What this website collects
Nothing that identifies you. We have not added analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and the site doesn’t set cookies. The fonts are served from this website itself, so loading a page doesn’t contact a third-party font service.
We don’t sell personal data, use it for advertising or profiling, or make automated decisions about you.
Server logs
Hostinger, which hosts this website on servers in Germany (EU), keeps standard technical logs of requests, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. They are used only to keep the site running and secure, which is our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). We don’t use them to identify or profile visitors, and the host deletes them on its standard log-retention schedule.
Launch updates
If you ask for launch updates, we collect your email address, your answer to the optional question about your work if you give one, and a record of your consent: its wording, its version and when you gave it.
We do this only with your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by ticking the box and then confirming your address from the email we send. Giving your email address is voluntary, but we can’t send updates without it.
The list is stored with Supabase (database) and Resend (email delivery), which processes it in the European Union (Ireland). We keep your details until you unsubscribe; requests that are never confirmed are deleted after 30 days, and unsubscribed addresses are deleted 30 days after unsubscribing. We use them only to send the ALDBRN launch announcement and occasional product updates, and every email includes a way to unsubscribe.
When you confirm, we email ourselves a short note with your address and your answer to the optional question, so we know who has joined.
To limit abuse of the signup form we also keep a keyed hash of the requesting IP address for 24 hours; it cannot be turned back into the address. That rests on our legitimate interest in keeping the form safe (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
You can withdraw your consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in any of our emails, or by writing to us. Withdrawing doesn’t affect emails sent before you did.
Joining the list will be a request for updates. It is not an account, a reserved place or a purchase.
Who processes data for us
We use a few service providers to run the website. They handle personal data only on our instructions, under data processing agreements, and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Hostinger: hosts this website and its server logs on servers in Germany (EU), and hosts our email inbox.
- Supabase (database) and Resend (email delivery): store the launch list and send its emails, in the European Union (Ireland).
We don’t share personal data with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Transfers outside Europe
Supabase and Resend are US companies. The list is stored in their EU region, but their staff or subprocessors may reach it from outside the EEA, for example to give support or keep the service secure. For Supabase those transfers are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses in its data processing agreement; for Resend, by its certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy
- have it corrected if it’s wrong or incomplete
- have it deleted
- have us restrict how we use it
- get the data you gave us in a common, machine-readable format, or have it sent to someone else
- object to anything we do on the basis of our legitimate interests
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what we did before you withdrew it.
To use any of these rights, contact us (see Contact below). It’s free, and we answer without undue delay and within one month at the latest. We may ask you to confirm that the request really comes from you.
Complaints
If you think we handle your data wrongly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, or to the data protection authority where you live or work in the EEA.
Changes to this page
If what the website does changes, this page changes first, and the date at the top changes with it.
